The director of the Suspects and Criminal Phenomena Department at the Dubai Police, Brigadier Ali Salem Al Shamsi, stated on Wednesday that the majority of the individuals who violated the law came to the country on a visit visa in order to make quick money by taking advantage of the goodwill of other people.

There were 112 males and 90 females in custody.

Those who are responsible for organizing activities that involve begging and bringing individuals from other countries to engage in begging will be subject to a punishment consisting of a minimum of six months in prison and a minimum of one hundred thousand dirhams.

He emphasized that donations should be given to charity institutions that are registered and reputable in order to guarantee that their contributions will be sent to those who are in need and not to questionable persons or groups.
