Sharjah provides free services to citizens and expatriates for a week

rawda samy - | UAE

For a period of one week, Sharjah offers free services to both its inhabitants and its expatriates.

This week, visitors to Sharjah's museums could enter free of charge.

Museums are open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and Thursdays, and from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Due to the fact that museums in Sharjah are available to the public without charge until March 3, this presents an excellent chance for both locals and visitors to learn about the diverse Emirati culture and heritage.

Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn), Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Bait Al Naboodah, and Hisn Khorfakkan are some of the institutions that will be open to visitors without charge. The Sharjah Institutions Authority (SMA) is responsible for providing this service.

In addition, the Sharjah Museum Authority (SMA) has introduced a new program called "Museums Express," which is a mobile bus museum project that will be operational in Dibba Al Hisn on February 28 and in the Heart of Sharjah on March 1 and March 3. This program will allow visitors to travel across a variety of collections held by the Sharjah Museum.

SMA states that in addition to receiving free admission, guests have the opportunity to take part in a variety of programs that are intended to "immerse visitors in the rich tapestry of the Emirate's heritage and history." One of these is the Al Hisn Towers workshop, which will be held at Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn) and will look into the history of the famous building that was constructed in 1823 AD.

Visitors will have a deeper understanding of the history of Sharjah and the family that has ruled the emirate, as well as old defense strategies, the governing system, and the way people used to live in the emirate in the past.

A class will be held at Bait Al Naboodah, which was built in 1845 AD and is famous for its superb heritage architecture that features Roman-inspired wooden columns and ornate ornamentation. During the program, participants will paint floral and geometric motifs on gypsum casts.

During the 'Letter Pendant' class that will be held at the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, participants will learn how to create one-of-a-kind pendants decorated with colorful wires, vivid beads, and elegant Arabic letters. These pendants can be used to decorate a variety of items, including phones, purses, and more. In addition to that, the Sharjah Heritage Museum will be hosting seminars that will showcase Arab customs and traditions.

In the meantime, Bait Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamad Al Qasimi in Kalba will be hosting a photo exhibition with the title "Geometric and Floral Ornaments." This exhibition will emphasize the artistic and structural elements of the area. The photo exhibition titled "The Art of Architectural Decoration in the Emirate of Sharjah" will also be displayed at Bait Al Naboodah.
