UAE announces new list of fines and violations in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah Police unveiled updated regulations regarding vehicle impoundment on March 6, 2024, to inform drivers of recent changes.

These rules were disseminated via the authority's Instagram account under the caption 'Executive Council Resolution No. 2 of 2024 concerning certain instances of vehicle seizure'.

The comprehensive list of regulations includes penalties for various offenses: Driving without a license: A first offense warrants a 30-day impoundment and a Dh3,000 penalty. Repeat offenses within the same year result in a 60-day impoundment and a Dh6,000 penalty.

Dangerous motorcycle or electric bike riding: 15-day impoundment and a Dh2,000 penalty. Hazardous regular bicycle riding: 15-day impoundment and a Dh500 penalty. Unauthorized water loading: An initial offense leads to a 30-day impoundment and a Dh1,000 penalty, while repeat offenses within the year result in a 60-day impoundment and a Dh2,000 penalty.

Recreational bike misconduct: 90-day vehicle seizure with a Dh3,000 penalty. Participation in processions: Penalties range from Dh1,000 to Dh10,000, or 15 to 120 days of vehicle impoundment. Unauthorized road racing: Dh10,000 penalty or 90 days of vehicle impoundment.

Counterfeit license plates: 60-day impoundment and a Dh5,000 penalty. Concealed number plates: 30-day impoundment and a Dh5,000 penalty. Reflective stickers or shading: 30-day vehicle impoundment and a Dh3,000 penalty.

Vehicle modifications for speed or noise increase: 60-day impoundment with a Dh5,000 penalty. Intentional collision with a police vehicle: 120-day vehicle impoundment and a Dh10,000 penalty.

Environmental damage or misconduct in tourist areas: an initial offense leads to a 30-day impoundment and a Dh3,000 penalty, while repeat offenses within the year result in a 60-day impoundment and a Dh6,000 penalty.

Unauthorized parking at construction sites: a first offense warrants a 30-day impoundment and a Dh3,000 penalty, while repeat offenses within the year result in a 60-day impoundment and a Dh6,000 penalty. Fines exceeding Dh10,000: 30-day impoundment, with the vehicle's retrieval contingent upon paying the due fines.

These regulations underscore the commitment to maintaining road safety and order in the emirate, with a focus on penalizing violators while safeguarding public welfare and property.
