UAE authorities warn residents of dangerous water currents on the beaches

There are potentially hazardous sea currents on the beaches, according to the authorities in the UAE.

Residents of the UAE have received warnings about deadly currents at the beach as temperatures continue to rise.

During the summer, some beaches in the Emirates are affected by dangerous water currents.

The dangerous current has the ability to "pull people into the sea."

Following the discovery of the 'Al Shurtan' constellation on May 12, temperatures in the United Arab Emirates have begun to approach or even surpass 40 degrees Celsius. This coincides with the start of summer in the UAE. Beachgoers, in addition to the heat, face the potentially hazardous currents known as "Al Sayura," also known as the drawing current.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, the president of the Emirates Astronomical Society, explained that the arrival of Al Shurtan, a pair of stars, corresponds with a rise in temperatures exceeding forty degrees Celsius and a decrease in humidity below thirty percent throughout the day.

The Emirates Astronomical Association announced earlier that they had observed the constellation. The observation took place at dawn on Sunday, May 12, from the eastern part of the country.

Al Jarwan issued a warning to beachgoers about the creation of potentially hazardous currents known as "Al Sayura," which drag people into the water from the beach. Additionally, he alerted people to the intensification of dry and dusty northwesterly winds, known as "Barah" until the middle of July. The strengthening of "Sumoom," a term for extremely hot and dry winds, ensued.

The turbulence that occurs in the Arabian Sea and the northern Indian Ocean marks the beginning of the tropical activity season.

This occurs as the Arabian Gulf is experiencing a period of calm.

According to Al Jarwan, this season is the beginning of the ripening process for dates, figs, and mangoes, and it is also the time when the majority of pastures begin to dry out. Furthermore, this marks the start of the fishing season in the Arabian Gulf, a habitat for diverse species like sharks, groupers, and barracuda, where salting preserves the surplus fish.
