In addition, it is against the law to sell tobacco products to either minors or anybody who is less than 18 years old. Those who violate this law will be subject to a minimum fine of Dh10,000 and a prison sentence of at least three months.

The United Arab Emirates has a smoking ban

This includes places of business, places of worship, shopping malls, hotels, schools, health institutions, public transportation, and sports facilities. Smoking is prohibited in all public recreational areas, including parks, beaches, and other public places.

Electronic cigarettes, shisha, and other tobacco products are all included in the prohibition. Offenders are subject to a fine that can run anywhere from Dh200 to Dh5,000. The maximum fine that may be imposed on smokers in shopping malls is Dh2,000, and mall security officials have the authority to report repeat violators to the police.

The United Arab Emirates has made it illegal to promote or advertise tobacco products in any way, whether directly or indirectly, and to import tobacco goods that do not have appropriate health warnings on their packaging. Those who violate the law might be subject to a fine of up to one million dirhams and a prison sentence of up to two years.
