The European Commission announces an increase in Schengen visa fees.

The European Commission has announced an increase in the fees for Schengen visas.

Commencing on June 11, the European Commission has stated that there will be an increase in the fees for Schengen visas for short-term stays across the globe. As a result of this decision, the price of Schengen visas, also known as visa type C, would increase by twelve percent, which will have an effect on tourists who are planning to travel to Europe.

New fees for Schengen visas in 2024.

Schengen visas will be subject to new levies.

Up from the present fee structure of Euro 80 (Dh319), the new fee structure will result in an increase to Euro 90 (Dh359) for adult applicants. For the upcoming year, the charge will increase from Euro 40 (Dh160) to Euro 45 (Dh180) for children aged 6 to under 12 years old. This increase applies to visa applications submitted globally.

All 27 countries in Europe, including well-known tourist sites like France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, are accessible to travelers who have obtained a Schengen visa.

The price adjustment aims to better align with the rising costs of processing visas and maintaining the security of the Schengen region.

The European Commission sets a date for increasing Schengen visa fees.

The European Commission decides when prices for Schengen visas will go up, and they do so on a certain day.

The European Commission has decided to increase the prices for Schengen visas by 12%, and the increase will take effect on June 11.

The adult visa price increased from Euro 60 (Dh240) to Euro 80 (Dh319) in February of 2020. This was the most recent implementation of the pricing modification. The European Commission cited inflation and the need to cover administrative costs associated with the visa procedure, such as background checks, data processing, and maintaining secure entry systems, as justifications for the most recent increase in fees.

For adults, the new charge will be Euro 90 (359), and for families with children aged 6 to under 12 years old, it will be Euro 45 (Dh180).

These increases are part of a larger effort to adequately cover the expenses associated with visa processing and the implementation of security measures.

Cabo Verde candidates will be required to pay Euro 60 (Dh240), while applicants from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Belarus will be required to pay Euro 35 (Dh140).
