Today, the Criminal Court in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, sentenced a group of workers residing in the country to 6 months in prison, and fined them a combined 32,000 dirhams. The court also ordered their deportation from the country after serving their sentence.

Stealing money and checks from him

According to the circumstances of the case, the investor was charged with enticing, assaulting, and stealing money and checks from him after he refused to return the money he had borrowed in their names from a bank and provided to him.

The facts of this case go back to May 2023, when an investor, the owner of an office for clearing transactions and delivering services, filed a report alleging that he had been detained and beaten by many of his employees.

Case details

During the Public Prosecution's investigation, the victim revealed that one of his employees invited him to tea at his residence, to which he consented, but when he arrived, he saw that person with three other employees and others.

They forced him to sign checks

They allegedly pushed him into his car, assaulted him, and transported him to another location where they abused and detained him further. Before allowing him access, they confiscated 32,000 dirhams from him, as well as his phone and the checks he signed for them. He must leave the premises.

Details of their arrest

According to a police officer, an investigating team discovered and arrested the culprits. Following an investigation, three of them admitted to working for the victim, who asked them to arrange bank loans in their identities.

They allegedly consented and handed him the money they had borrowed after he promised to repay it after a certain period of time, but he did not and informed them he would not.

The accused also stated that they decided to steal money from the victim. They enticed him, kidnapped him, and abused him with the assistance of others who admitted to their involvement in the crime but denied stealing his money.
