The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs coordinated with the Information and e-Government Authority within the framework of expanding the scope of digital transformation initiatives, in order to provide the service of issuing a replacement for a lost passport and a replacement for a damaged one for Bahraini citizens within the Kingdom.
Sources reported that this service has been added to the list of electronic services available through the e-government portal Bahrain.bh, indicating that this service benefits the citizen in the event of damage or loss of the passport within the Kingdom of Bahrain as follows:
• Submit the application directly through the e-government portal.
• Enter personal data.
• Attach the required documents according to the requirements stated on the website.
His Excellency continued that after submitting the application, visual communication is made with the citizen to complete the necessary procedures, payment is made through the e-government website, and the passport is received from one of the service centers for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs.
Sources indicated that in accordance with the directives of the esteemed government regarding procedures for converting a visa into a work visa, with the aim of creating job opportunities for citizens, reducing the unemployment rate, and supporting Bahrainis as a first choice in employment.
His Excellency Sheikh Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, explained that the conversion of a visit visa without a guarantor into a work or enrollment visa has been stopped, in addition to raising the cost of fees for converting visit visas with a guarantor into work or enrollment visas from 60 to 250 dinars, with the condition that To be on the same guarantor.
His Excellency continued that these measures, which are being carried out in coordination with the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, come within the framework of supporting the national plan for the labor market and the directives aimed at confronting the exploitation of visit visas by some.
