The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the UAE has announced the possibility of obtaining a driving license in the Emirates without lessons through the recently launched Golden Opportunity service, to benefit non-citizens from countries whose driving licenses cannot be exchanged according to specific conditions and controls.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the UAE has announced that non-citizens from countries whose driving licences cannot be exchanged due to specific conditions and controls will be able to benefit from the recently launched Golden Opportunity service by having the possibility of obtaining a driving licence in the Emirates without having to take driving lessons. This will be possible through the Golden Opportunity service.

Driving license in the Emirates without lessons for categories whose license cannot be exchanged

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the launch of a new service that would benefit drivers who possess licences that fall into categories that are not eligible for the option of having their driving licences exchanged. It was referred to as the "Golden Opportunity," and it was mentioned that applicants can apply for an Emirati driving licence even if they haven't taken any driving lessons or received any instruction, providing that they pass the final test, which is referred to as the "road test."

How to benefit from the golden opportunity service and issue a driving license in the Emirates without lessons

And the authority announced, via a tweet posted on its account on the social networking platform Twitter, that it is feasible for holders of driving licences issued from countries that were not included in the list of countries whose driving licences of 43 countries can be exchanged to apply for a licence in the country. The list of countries whose driving licences can be exchanged is comprised of 43 nations.

Conditions for obtaining a driving license in the UAE

It is necessary to complete a programme of training and lessons in addition to a set of theoretical and practical tests in order to obtain a driving licence in the UAE. However, drivers who have obtained a driving licence from one of the countries on the list that was provided earlier are exempt from both the lessons and the tests, provided that they submit a set of documents proving the validity of their driving licences.

According to the information provided by the Authority, the service is only accessible to individuals who have licences to operate light vehicles. Heavy vehicle licences are not included in this category.
