The new residence visa in the Emirates allows all government and health services

Ahmed Moawad - | Arab News

A new "civil residence" visa has been announced by the UAE government, allowing citizens and permanent residents to work in the UAE for a period of 5 years without a sponsor or guarantor, and it can be renewed after its expiration.

It's not uncommon for petitions for green residency to be denied, especially given the high volume of submissions. That has prompted the question, "Why don't you just move to the UAE?" Exactly what are the prerequisites for obtaining "green residency" in the United Arab Emirates? We hope to address these concerns and more during the course of this post.

Green residency features in the UAE

  • One of the benefits of green residency is that it makes it easier to bring spouses, children, and other close relatives to the United Arab Emirates.
  • Additionally, women of any age who are not married are eligible for a residency permit.
  • Green residency has many benefits, including allowing people of any age with a disability to get a residence permit along with their families.
  • Providing a grace period of 6 months for renewal when residency has lapsed or been revoked.
  • When a family is reunited, each member often gains the same amount of residence time as the person who originally held the residence.
  • The green residency programme allows parents to legally keep their children at home until they reach the age of 25.
  • The ability to take advantage of all public and medical services available in the Emirates, including health insurance, is a major perk of green residency.
  • Not only may a person with green residence create a bank account in the United Arab Emirates, but they are encouraged to do so.
  • Those who are granted residency are also exempt from visa requirements for visiting certain locations within the state.
  • A green residence holder is eligible for a UAE driver's licence.
  • A guardian with green residency in the Emirates can work legally and invest in the economy, in addition to enrolling his children in public or private schools.
