A number of Honda and Acura cars have been recalled in Canada due to problems related to safety and airbags in the cars.
According to the Japanese corporation "Honda," approximately 66,846 Honda vehicles are now in operation in Canada owing to probable issues with the front passenger airbag sensors.
Honda recalls the Accord, Civic, CR-V, Fit, HR-V, Insight, Odyssey, and Ridgeline, as well as the Acura MDX, TLX, and RDX, for model years 2020-2022.
Sensors also help to ensure that the front airbag does not activate unless it senses the weight of an adult passenger in the front seat. In the case of the recalled vehicles, an internal electrical breakdown could occur, resulting in a fire and the airbag bursting at the wrong time.
Honda estimates that this fault affects one percent of the vehicles subject to the recall.
The manufacturer urges owners of impacted vehicles to keep an eye on the passenger airbag indication, which may remain off in the event of a short circuit, and the SRS warning light, which may illuminate if there is an issue with the airbags.
Honda said it informed dealers of the problem last Friday, and owners of impacted vehicles will be notified next month.
If the SRS warning light illuminates, Honda urges owners to take their vehicle to a Honda or Acura dealership right away.
