Emirates School announces opening of registration for the “second period”

Asma Ahmed - | UAE

The Emirates School Education Foundation has initiated the enrollment process for citizen students and their equivalents in government schools for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025, marking the commencement of the "second period" of registration.

This phase, spanning from April 18 to May 3, targets a diverse range of students, including newcomers, those aiming to switch from local private schools, and individuals relocating from educational institutions abroad.

Emphasizing the significance of adhering to the specified registration timeframe, the institution underscores the importance of efficient pre-planning and operational readiness to ensure the seamless commencement of the next academic session. By facilitating timely registration, the Foundation aims to optimize its capacity to deliver educational services of the highest quality, aligned with the expectations of both students and parents.

During the registration process, it is crucial for students to select schools situated within their residential vicinity while also complying with the prescribed enrollment criteria outlined on the Foundation's official platforms. Registration avenues are accessible through the institution's website and mobile application, with the prerequisite of updating digital identity information to facilitate seamless access to services.

Parents are urged to furnish accurate documentation to facilitate the completion of the registration process, with guardians encouraged to actively monitor the progress of their registration requests through the online portal. Enrollment conditions for public schools are clearly delineated, stipulating age requirements for entry into kindergarten and the foundational grades of basic education.

Furthermore, the Foundation delineates enrollment eligibility criteria, restricting kindergarten registration to citizens and the offspring of female citizens exclusively. For first-grade enrollment, eligibility extends to citizens, children of female citizens, and individuals meeting the prerequisites for basic education entry. Notably, citizen students and children of female citizens with special needs are accommodated across all levels of government schooling, with provisions for tailored support according to approved categories.

To ensure equitable access for students with special needs, an initial registration phase is instituted to secure placements in schools, allowing parents to schedule diagnostic appointments conveniently. Priority is accorded to students with special needs for placement in nearby educational institutions, aligning with the geographical distribution of residential zones.
