The UAE issues widespread warnings due to heavy rain hitting these areas this week

Ahmed Moawad - | UAE

The National Center of Meteorology in the UAE issued an urgent warning to all residents and citizens regarding the country being exposed to a surface depression extending from the southwest with a depression extending into the upper layers of the atmosphere and the possibility of heavy rain falling in a number of areas this week, starting today.

According to the statement issued by the National Center of Meteorology in the United Arab Emirates, today’s weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of light to moderate rain, reaching heavy in some areas, especially the northern, eastern and coastal areas.

The Meteorological Center also expected a drop in temperature, especially to the west, and the winds will be southeasterly, turning to northwesterly, with light to moderate clouds, sometimes active with clouds.

These winds raise dust and dirt on the sea, which has light to medium waves, and is sometimes turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

It is noteworthy that the National Center of Meteorology in the UAE has confirmed that the country will be exposed during the month of February to air depressions coming from the Mediterranean Sea, leading to instability in weather conditions.

The southern winds are active, stirring up dust and sand, and rain clouds sometimes increase. The prevailing winds during this month are south-easterly in the morning, turning to westerly and north-westerly during the day, while the country is sometimes affected by active north-westerly winds called “northern winds”.

The National Center of Meteorology explained that the weather next Wednesday in the UAE will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with the possibility of rain falling in various areas of the country.

The winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate speed, sometimes active, and causing dust, and their speed ranges between 15 and 25 km/h, reaching 40 km/h on the sea, which has moderate waves, turbulent in the Arabian Gulf, and light to medium waves. In the Sea of Oman.
