UAE announces its readiness for the upcoming weather changes

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority revealed that it is fully prepared to deal with the upcoming weather situation that the country is witnessing.

The sources reported that the authority had prepared a joint assessment team for meteorological and tropical conditions, and had held a series of meetings in the presence of the Ministry of Interior, the National Center of Meteorology and relevant government agencies to deal with the depression.

The Ministry of Interior also advised the public not to circulate and spread rumors, and to exercise caution, adhere to safety requirements and guidelines, and adhere to the instructions of the concerned authorities, while the National Center of Meteorology clarified that the weather condition that the country has witnessed since yesterday will reach its peak during tomorrow night, and will continue until next Saturday.

The center reported that the depression coming from the Red Sea is accompanied by humid winds, with the possibility of light to moderate, but heavy, rain in both the southern and eastern regions, accompanied by lightning and thunder.

The center expected that the amount of clouds will gradually decrease on Friday and Saturday, but today’s weather will be fair to partly cloudy, and local cumulonimbus clouds will form in some interior and western regions in the afternoon, while tomorrow’s weather is expected to remain fair to partly cloudy, and cloudy, with a chance of rain. With the possibility of light to moderate winds, turning to active northwesterly to strong winds at times with clouds on Thursday morning, causing dust and dirt, leading to low horizontal visibility.

Safe driving procedures in light of rain:

Traffic expert, retired Brigadier General Jamal Al-Amiri, advised against using four-way signals except in the presence of a fixed object, a complete stop, or when there is a traffic accident on the road, stressing the necessity of choosing the appropriate path, which is the middle path, to allow the flow of vehicles coming from behind, and not Choose the right lane with lots of stops.
