The United Kingdom is expected to witness an increase in travel requests over the next few days, especially as the new ETA system approaches.
Recent statistics indicate that this number is expected to increase over the next few years following the development witnessed in visa systems for those wishing to travel to Britain.
ETA visa in Britain
Citizens from many countries will be able to benefit from this new system and obtain travel permits through the UK government digital service.
The system also provides a single point of access to government services, and the ETA visa system replaces the Electronic Visa Waivers (EVW) currently requested by the majority of Arab Gulf citizens.
Countries benefiting from the new visa regime in the United Kingdom
The ETA will enable citizens of the Kingdom, as well as citizens of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and the UAE, to obtain the Expected Travel Authorization if you are traveling to the United Kingdom on or after 22 February 2024.
The ETA is an improvement over the EVW, as its value is less than the cost of the previous visa, and will be £10, and the new visa allows those who receive the new visa unlimited visits to the UK over the course of two years, or until the holder’s passport expires - depending on the first possibility.
Exempting travelers from the Arab Gulf countries from a visa to visit the United Kingdom
It stipulates that all Gulf Cooperation Council countries will move to the electronic travel permit system, exempting them from a visa to visit the United Kingdom, which includes the Gulf countries.
This enhances the British government's ability to screen travelers, by ensuring that everyone wishing to travel to the United Kingdom (except for British and Irish citizens) obtains prior permission to do so.
