Security forces stopped a passenger after he attempted to open one of the plane's emergency doors, during its flight from England to Toronto.
Investigations indicate that the passenger was behaving strangely throughout the flight, and then tried to open the plane's emergency door while the plane was over the ocean.
For his part, an Air Canada spokesman said that this incident involved an annoying passenger on the next flight from England from Heathrow to Toronto.
The Canadian airline also confirmed that it is very difficult to open the plane's doors at high altitudes, given that the plane's doors are designed to act as a seal that takes advantage of differences in internal and external air pressure.
The plane was able to land on time at Toronto Airport after three o'clock in the evening, and then the police boarded the plane after all the passengers disembarked.
The police spoke with the man inside the plane, to uncover the motives that caused him to commit this act.
In its statement, the police confirmed that the passenger was an elderly man, and he was in a state of crisis and confusion. Police investigations revealed that the man’s actions were not intentional, and the Canadian police did not file any criminal charges against him.
It is noteworthy that this incident comes less than two weeks after the incident in which a passenger opened the cabin door and fell from an Air Canada plane.
