The Emirati Police in Abu Dhabi issued new methods used by fraudsters on the Internet, and many people fell victim to them, as these sites offer many attractive deals, most of which are of course fake and do not exist.

Abu Dhabi Police explained that online fraud methods have developed greatly. Some of them are carried out in the traditional way, through fraudulent links to websites for downloading the logos of famous stores in the UAE, and some of the methods are carried out through calls and SMS messages.

The police revealed that they had received many reports during the recent period, including the presence of fraudulent websites and links online, bearing the logos and names of famous shops in the Emirates, offering deals at attractive prices to users.

Do not respond and interact with these ads

Abu Dhabi Police asked users not to respond to fake electronic advertisements that offer pets for sale or adoption in exchange for paying shipping and insurance costs from outside the country.

She added that these products are marketed on the Internet, social media sites, and some smart phone buying and selling applications, and victims are urged to pay money into bank accounts.

Warning against believing the lies of scammers

The police warned against believing the lies of fraudsters who take advantage of the opportunity to hold official events and activities to defraud them, by creating pages for fake companies online, claiming to be approved companies or employment programs.

It also called for not providing any confidential information, including account or card information, passwords for online banking services, personal ID numbers for ATM machines, security number (CCV), or password, with anyone. And workers in the banking sector and banks will not ask for this. data.
