UAE Announces Completion of Key Road Upgrades Across Dubai

Asma Ahmed - | UAE

The internal road and streetlighting program in Margham, Lehbab, Al Lesaili, and Hatta has been completed by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai.

There were 35 kilometers of improved infrastructure as part of the project. 18 kilometers were dedicated to roadwork, while 17 kilometers of existing streets had lighting poles installed. In response to citizens' changing demands, RTA has already begun further road upgrades in Al Lesaili and Lehbab.

Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA Mattar Al Tayer stated that the internal roads project was launched in response to directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in order to meet the needs of the city's expanding population and urbanization in both rural and residential areas of Dubai. In order to improve the lives of people all around the emirate, RTA is dedicated to improving the road network, lighting the streets, and creating better systems to handle rainfall, according to Al Tayer.

The internal roads project in Margham entailed the construction of roads spanning 5 kilometers along Dubai-Al Ain Road, adjacent to Skydive Dubai. The development included road pavements, rainwater drainage networks, and street lighting, benefiting over 1,100 residents in the vicinity.

Paving four kilometers of roads and improving infrastructure in the areas of rainwater drainage and street lighting were also part of the internal roadways project in Lehbab. More than 3,000 people were served, and better connection inside the residential neighborhood was made possible by lighting improvements that extended 2 kilometers along the Dubai-Hatta Road near Lehbab Camels' Racetrack.

In Al Lesaili, internal road works spanned 7 kilometers, including street lighting enhancements for existing roads near Saih Assalam and Al Qudra Lakes. This project benefits approximately 2,900 residents and enhances entry and exit points in the area.

Lastly, the Hatta roads upgrade project covered the construction of roads spanning 2 kilometers in Suhaila, alongside infrastructure improvements in rainwater drainage and street lighting. Serving about 6,000 residents, this initiative enhances connectivity for the newly developed residential community with the broader road network.
