The federal authority for government human resources issued a circular to all ministries and federal entities in the federal government on the Eid al-Adha festival and the Arafa Waqfh in the year 1444 Ah.
The date of the Blessed Eid al-Adha:
The holiday of Arafah and Eid al-Adha was decided to be from the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 ah until the 12th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 ah, equivalent to the Gregorian date.
The circular was issued in response to the Council of Ministers' resolution on the authorized public holiday calendar for the country's government and business sectors for 2023.
On this occasion, the authority thanked the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates, its residents, and the Arab and Islamic nations, requesting that Allah Almighty restore their health and well-being.
The date of the astronomically blessed Eid al-Adha :
Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, head of the board of directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society and a member of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy Sciences, predicted that the Blessed Eid al-Adha will fall on Wednesday, June 28th.
According to Al-Jarwan, the new crescent for the month of Dhu al-Hijjah is born on Sunday, June 18 at 08:37 a.m. (UAE time), and with the same-day sunset, the Crescent's age is 10:33 hours, and the crescent is located above the western horizon at an altitude of five degrees, and sets about 29 minutes after sunset.
According to this, Dhu al-Hijjah will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, and Arafah will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27. According to astrological estimates, the next Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday, June 28.
According to Al-Jarwan, because feelings in Saudi Arabia and most nations will adopt what is allowed by the people of the Haram from the day of the rites, Monday, June 19, will be the anniversary of Dhu al-Hijjah there.
He pointed out that because the moon is born at 8:37 a.m., the moon's age at sunset is less than 12 hours, making it difficult to monitor the Crescent. If the moon's age at sunset is greater than 15 hours, an agreement to enter the new month is expected, but if the moon was not born before sunset or was absent before sunset, an agreement not to enter the new month is expected.
