Sharjah announces a 4-day paid holiday 2024

This follows the announcement on Sunday by the UAE government that public sector workers will get a one-week break.

Federal employees in Sharjah who typically work a four-day workweek will be given a 10-day holiday to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, which marks the conclusion of the fasting season, as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are the official weekend days for them.

Regardless of whether the moon is visible, the holiday will formally start on April 8. Depending on when the Moon is viewed, Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days according to the Islamic calendar. The first of Shawwal, the month that follows Ramadan, is when people celebrate Eid Al Fitr.

Excitement is building in the UAE as people get ready to celebrate the longest public holiday of the year, which comes at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
