The UAE declares that a prior entry visa is not required for travel to the United Kingdom.
Beginning on February 1, inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates who intend to travel to the United Kingdom will no longer be required to get a pre-entry visa. According to the announcement made by the United Arab Emirates Embassy in London on Wednesday, they are now qualified to participate in the "Electronic Travel Authorization" (ETA) program.
Date of implementation of the decision
Beginning on February 1, Emiratis who wish to go to the United Kingdom can submit an application for an entry permit through the 'UK ETA' app or on GOV.UK. This permit allows for travel to the United Kingdom for an unlimited number of times over a period of two years and costs £10 (about Dh47).
"This significant milestone is the result of four years of collaborative effort and a symbol of our commitment to strengthening our deep ties," stated the statement released by the United Arab Emirates Embassy in the United Kingdom.
A new phase in relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom
The United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom will enter a new phase of their relationship on February 1, 2024. It is now possible for Emiratis who wish to go to the United Kingdom to participate in the newly introduced "Electronic Travel Authorization" (ETA) program.
A new arrival time (ETA) is all that is required for citizens of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Omani, and Saudi Arabia who are traveling to the United Kingdom on or after February 22. They are able to submit their applications beginning on Thursday, February 1.
Easy and efficient travel
Applying for an estimated time of arrival (ETA) in advance will allow visitors to enjoy travel that is both easy and efficient. The application process will be easy, quick, and fully digital. The majority of visitors will submit their applications through a mobile application, and they will receive a verdict regarding their application in a short amount of time.
Because it is not a visa, an ETA does not allow a person to enter the United Kingdom; however, it does give them permission to travel to the United Kingdom. A person will still be required to get leave to enter the country upon arrival, as is the current procedure. This can be done by seeing a Border Force Officer or by using an electronic gate, if they are eligible to do so.
