The UAE declares what these entities' working hours will be during the month of Ramadan.
A special circular regarding the official working hours of federal government sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1445 Ah was released by the federal authority for Government Human Resources.
Number of working hours during the month of Ramadan
According to the circular, the official working hours of ministries and federal entities during the holy month of Ramadan are nine in the morning until half past two in the afternoon, Monday through Thursday. On Friday, however, the working hours are nine in the morning until twelve noon, with the exception of those whose line of work dictates otherwise.
Implementing flexible work regulations
According to the authority, ministries and federal entities may maintain the application of their approved flexible work regulations during the working days of the holy month of Ramadan, as long as they follow the procedures outlined therein and stay within the daily maximum of approved working hours. Additionally, the entities may allow their employees to work remotely on Fridays during the month of Ramadan, provided that the percentage of employees working remotely does not exceed 70% of the total number of employees in the entity, as long as the approved controls are followed.
