The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship and Customs in the United Arab Emirates revealed the conditions for issuing a 5-year residence permit for retired residents of the UAE.
These include the necessity of owning a property worth 1,000,000 UAE dirhams, in addition to the necessity of owning a deposit in a bank, whether inside or outside the country, of no less than 1,000,000 UAE dirhams, and transferring it to one of the financial institutions in the Emirates within 60 days of applying for the application. Obtaining a 5-year residence visa for retired residents of the UAE
Among the conditions imposed by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship in the UAE is that the foreign resident’s service period in the country must not be less than 15 years before being referred for retirement, in addition to the necessity of reaching 55 years.
The Authority’s latest decision comes within the framework of the UAE’s interest in retired expatriates, in appreciation of the efforts made during their period of service in institutions in the UAE, and their contributions to increasing economic growth.
Residency conditions for retired expatriates in the UAE
1- The applicant for retirement residency in the UAE must be over 55 years old.
2- The period of service before his retirement is required to be no less than 15 years inside or outside the Emirates.
3- It is also required that the applicant for residence permit for residents living in the Emirates possess more than 1 million UAE dirhams, or have savings and financial deposits worth 1 million dirhams.
4- It is required to submit a bank account statement proving that the resident receives an income of up to 20,000 UAE dirhams, or 15,000 UAE dirhams in the Emirate of Dubai.
5- The previous conditions are applied in the event of renewing the residency of retired expatriates in the Emirates.
Fees for issuing residency permits for retired residents in the UAE
- Residence permit fee – 200 AED.
- Knowledge fee: 10 UAE dirhams.
- Innovation fee: 10 UAE dirhams.
- Fee within the country: 500 UAE dirhams.
- Delivery: only one UAE dirham.
