The Roads and Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates announced through its account on the social networking site x (formerly Twitter) about expected delays on the airport road on Tuesday, January 2.
The Roads and Transport Authority in the UAE explained that this disruption will affect traffic, specifically around Terminals 1 and 3 at the airport.
The Authority announced that the busiest time on Dubai Airport Road is expected to be from 4 am until Tuesday at 10 am, coinciding with the weekend.
Use alternative methods
The authority asked passengers heading to Dubai Airport to leave early and use alternative routes.
It is worth noting that this crowding came after the reopening of many roads in downtown Dubai, including Al Asayel Street, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Street, and Burj Khalifa Street, following the fireworks display in Burj Khalifa on New Year’s Eve.
The busiest airport in the world
It is worth noting that Dubai International Airport is considered one of the busiest airports in the world, in terms of international passenger traffic, and continues to rank first for the ninth year in a row.
Dubai International Airport received 66 million passengers at the airport from all over the world during the past year, compared to the number recorded in 2019, when the number of passengers through Dubai International Airport reached 64.5 million passengers.
4.4 million passengers during the holiday season pass through Dubai Airport
It is worth noting that Dubai International Airport announced that it received about 4.4 million passengers during the period from 15 to 31 December, with an average daily movement of 258 thousand passengers to and from Dubai.
The airport witnessed a variety of entertainment activities distributed in Terminals 1, 2 and 3, starting with the opportunity to take a 3D photo within a giant snow glass ball, or performances presented by a number of performers who will distribute chocolates and other gifts.
