By combining the "preliminary and city" licence tests into a single day, applicants are no longer need to take them over the course of several days.
According to an official, this project is a part of the General Command's attempts to increase consumer happiness and contentment.
The decision, according to Colonel Khaled Mohammed Al Kay, Director of the Vehicles and Drivers Licencing Department, is part of Sharjah Police's desire to grow and maintain its client services.
The force also aims to encourage smart transformation by giving clients services that go above and beyond their expectations and make it simple for them to conduct transactions, resulting in happy and satisfied customers.
beginning on July 11, 2023, and ending in September
On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Colonel Al Kay announced that the new programme had begun and been activated. The effort will run through September's conclusion.
This will enable those who want the service of getting a new driver's licence from national service recruits and high school graduates to finish their transaction in a record-breaking amount of time that doesn't take more than a day's worth of labour.
The official further stated that the service would be provided both electronically and personally.
digital stage
The first stage will be completed electronically without physical attendance, according to Col. Al Kay.
This will be accomplished by submitting an application to the Ministry of Interior (MOI), which entails attending the theoretical classes and starting a file for the issuance of a new driver's licence.
Stage of application
Practical training sessions would be part of the transfer to the second stage (personal attendance) after successfully completing the electronic theoretical test.
Candidates must complete the training requirements outlined in the requirements mandated for driving institutes prior to the practical exam.
last test
Instead of attending many training days, the preliminary and city final exams will be conducted for one day.
In order to save the time and effort required to earn a UAE driver's licence, the police has urged national service recruits and high school graduates to take advantage of the initiative.
Coordination
According to Col. Rashid Ahmed Al Fardan of the Sharjah Police's Vehicles and Drivers Licencing Department, the division worked with the city's educational district to obtain the contact information of recent high school graduates.
To date, 9,000 kids registered in Sharjah municipal schools have received communications from the Sharjah Driving Institute (SDI).
Additionally, SDI provides high school graduates with a 15% discount off the cost of the training package in order to open the file. The promotion is valid through September 30, 2023.
