Air India Express, a budget airline, has introduced Xpress Lite prices for customers who want to fly without checked luggage, allowing passengers flying from the UAE to India to enjoy cheaper airfares.
By introducing Xpress Check-In, the airline which is a division of Air India and a member of the Tata group has given customers the option to skip the check-in booths and luggage belts altogether. Passengers who choose this option also get a free 3 kilogram cabin baggage allowance in addition to lower prices for 15 kg and 20 kg pre-booked check-in baggage limits.
All routes between India and the UAE are eligible for this package. Air India Express links 31 local and 14 foreign airports with its extensive network of more than 340 daily flights.
The budget carrier operates a significant number of flights between India and the UAE every week, totaling 195 flights, including destinations such as Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain. Furthermore, it operates 308 flights weekly across the Gulf region. In a previous interview with Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, expressed the airline's intention to enhance capacity to the Gulf region, including the UAE, and improve connectivity for Gulf travelers in various Tier 2 and 3 cities across India.
Passengers traveling on Xpress Lite fares are entitled to a standard cabin baggage allowance of 7 kg, with the option to pre-book an additional 3 kg cabin baggage at no extra cost during booking or through the airline's website or mobile app. For those requiring check-in baggage services later, the airline offers the flexibility to pre-book additional baggage allowances at discounted rates for 15 kg and 20 kg. Alternatively, passengers can purchase check-in baggage services at the airport counters.
