The Public Prosecution in the United Arab Emirates issued a warning and circular to all residents of the Emirates imposing severe penalties on people who forge entry visas and residence permits.
10 years imprisonment for violators
The Public Prosecution explained through its account on the X social site, “Twitter previously.” Anyone who forges a visa, residence permit, or official documents will be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 years.
The prosecution also made it clear that anyone who uses any forged document based on visas, work permits, and residence permits will be punished by imprisonment.
Law of forgery of residence permits in the UAE
It is worth noting that UAE law punishes those who forge entry visas and residence permits in accordance with Article (34) of Federal Law No. 6 of 1973 regarding the entry and residence of foreigners.
Whoever commits this act will be punished for a period not exceeding 10 years against anyone who forges a visa, entry permit, permit, residence card, or any of the official documents of the United Arab Emirates.
Preventing circumvention of the law
It should also be mentioned that the project undertaken by the Emirati government seeks to protect visas and entry and residence permits in the UAE.
The government confirms that these documents are considered official, and through the project it aims to circumvent the law regulating the entry and residence of foreigners, and to set controls for their entry and residence.
