The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security in the UAE announced the easiest and fastest procedures for obtaining the Emirates ID for citizens and residents of the UAE.
The authority called on citizens and residents to follow 5 precautions to obtain an ID card as quickly as possible.
Procedures for obtaining Emirates ID
1- Perform the fingerprint on time within 30 days of submitting the application.
2- Completion of health insurance and residency procedures.
3- Add the correct phone number of the transaction owner.
4- Submitting documents that are no less than six months old.
5- Implement the required amendments within the specified time if the transaction is returned for amendment within 30 days from the date of return.
Issuing the Emirates ID card
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security also clarified that individuals can issue a residence permit and identity card with ease through the unified form, through its website or smart application.
Steps to submit an application for issuing a UAE identity card
1- Register and create an account (digital ID) or access electronic services in the event of prior registration.
2- Choose the service for issuing a residence permit and identity card.
3- Submit the application, review and update the retrieved data, and pay the fees.
4- The ID card is received through approved delivery companies, as it has been approved as an alternative to the residence sticker previously printed on the passport.
Fine for delaying the renewal of the Emirates ID
The Authority stressed the necessity of renewing the ID card issued by the UAE within 30 days of its expiration. If it is not renewed, a late fine will be imposed. The Authority sends a notification via text message to customers before the card expires.
Obtaining an Emirates ID card is mandatory for all residents of the UAE, including Emirati citizens, citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and residents of the country.
