The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship and Customs and Ports Security revealed a new service for procedures for issuing entry permits to the Emirates.
The sources reported that these measures relate to reactivating the residency permits of expatriates residing outside the Emirates for a period of 6 months, This is done by requesting a new permit for those residing outside the country for a period of more than 6 months and having it approved by the Authority.
While the printing offices approved by the “Identity and Citizenship” Department indicated that the permit application has been active since January of last year, and it includes all types of residency in the Emirates, and allows the holder of the Emirati residency who has resided abroad for more than 6 months to request the permit, and then it is approved,so he can enter the country again with the same residency that was canceled after staying abroad for more than 6 months.
The sources explained that the UAE provided 4 different types of residency for foreigners for the purpose of working in the country, such as the regular work visa, the golden residency, the green residency, and the visa for workers in support services (especially support services Workers, Or domestic workers) ,but each visa has its own length of residence, ranging from 2 years, 5 years and 10 years.
Ordinary work visa:
The UAE digital government has issued a “regular work visa” for expatriate workers in the government and private sectors, as well as foreign workers in the free zone, This visa extends for two years and is renewed in accordance with the Authority’s instructions.
Green residence visa:
The digital government explained that it is issued to skilled workers, and extends for a period of 5 years without the need for a sponsor, host, or employer sponsor, and is renewable for the same period upon expiration of its term, and it is also a type of social security residence visa offered in 2021.
It is also issued to self-employed and private sector employers, but foreign workers must meet the following requirements:
1. Obtaining a self-employment or private work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
2. The minimum educational level must be a bachelor’s degree, a specialized diploma, or their equivalent The applicant’s annual income from self-employment for the previous two years must not be less than 360 thousand dirhams or its equivalent in foreign currencies.
3. To prove his financial solvency throughout his stay in the country.
While a skilled worker can obtain a “green residency” to work according to the following conditions:
• Obtaining a work permit in the country under a valid employment contract.
• To be a skilled worker at the first, second, or third professional level of the professional classification approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
• The minimum educational level must be a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• The monthly salary should not be less than 15 thousand dirhams or its equivalent in foreign currencies.
Golden residence visa:
It has been recognized by the digital government in the UAE as a long-term residence visa, extending for a period of 5 years or 10 years for certain categories of (investors, entrepreneurs, brilliant talents, scholars and specialists, outstanding students and graduates, and entrepreneurs, Humanitarian work the first line of defense), or for those wishing to come and enable them to live, work, invest and study without the need for a sponsor or host, while enjoying exclusive benefits.
