The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship clarified the procedures for converting tourist visas or visit visas into work and residence visas in the Emirates through its account on the social x platform (formerly Twitter), adding that the conversion process is still permitted in light of the implementation of the new visa system in the UAE.
In order to be able to convert a tourist visa to a work residence visa in the UAE, you must make several amendments before the expiration of the tourist or visit visa period.
Visit visa in the UAE
It should be noted at the beginning that there are two types of visit visas in the UAE, the first of which is the short-term visit visa, which lasts up to 30 days and allows its holder to enter the country once or several times.
The other type of visit visa is long-term and lasts for 90 days. The holder of this visa can enter the country once or several times. You can obtain the arena visa through airlines and travel agents or through the Emirati embassy in your country.
Conditions for converting a tourist visa into a residence visa in the Emirates
As we have explained, it is required to carry out procedures for amending a tourist or visit visa to a residence visa before the expiration of the tourist visa period.
- Your passport must also be valid for 6 months or more.
- A notarized employment contract is also required.
- The sponsorship is transferred from the tourist sponsor to the company or institution from which the employment contract is extracted.
- An amount of 600 UAE dirhams is paid as an alternative to leaving the UAE territory.
- A personal photo with a white background.
- It is also required that the applicant be at least 18 years old.
- The sponsor's license must be valid, and he must not have any violations.
- The cost of obtaining a visa is 3,600 UAE dirhams.
- Residency in the UAE is issued 5 days after the date of submission of the application.
