This would help raise awareness among riders that e-scooters are legitimate vehicles participating in road traffic. It would also make it easier to identify both the e-scooter and the rider in case of accidents.
Registration of e-scooters would also allow for stricter enforcement of laws pertaining to e-scooter specs, parking infractions, and speed limitations. The lack of a system to enforce these rules makes it hard for officials to keep tabs on e-scooter problems and find solutions.
