UAE introduces 10 number plates to be auctioned for Mothers Endowment campaign

Asma Ahmed - | UAE

On Sunday, March 24, an auction will be held to benefit the Mothers' Endowment campaign, with the goal of raising millions of dirhams in a single evening.

An auction scheduled for Sunday, March 24, aims to raise millions of dirhams for charity in support of the Mothers’ Endowment campaign, initiated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. The campaign seeks to establish a Dh1 billion endowment fund for education, with exclusive mobile numbers from Du and Etisalat also available for bidding.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) charity auction has a set of 10 unique license plate numbers, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has offered them up as a token of its support. The following license plate numbers are reserved for special vehicles: O74, O51, V39, P42, Q49, T95, U53, U79, W62, and W85.

Last year's auction, held in support of the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’ campaign, raised Dh97.92 million, setting an impressive precedent for charitable giving. Notable bids were made for special plate and phone numbers, with the most expensive vehicle plate number (P7) fetching Dh55 million, surpassing the previous record.

The upcoming auction is anticipated to attract prominent businessmen and philanthropists, continuing the tradition of supporting noble causes. Donations to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign can be made through various channels, including the campaign's website, toll-free number, and bank transfers. Additionally, contributions can be made via SMS for Etisalat by e& users, as well as through the DubaiNow app and the Jood community contributions platform, enabling residents to share their blessings and support education initiatives.
