The United Arab Emirates government announced an increase in the working hours of the Dubai Metro on December 31, in celebration of the New Year.
In a related context, an official at the Roads and Transport Authority in the United Arab Emirates indicated that major transport services are scheduled to continue without interruption for a full 40 hours, starting next December 31, in celebration of the New Year.
Increasing the fleet of public transport buses on the occasion of the new year
The Authority also explained that the fleet of public transport buses in the United Arab Emirates will also be increased to celebrate the New Year to 23 buses, most of which will be available at no cost.
Through this decision, the Roads and Transport Authority in the UAE aims to ensure that citizens and residents of its lands have access to comfortable transportation alternatives.
Reducing crowds during New Year celebrations
The authority added that the recent decisions taken by the Council of Ministers and a circular issued to all government agencies in the country aim to reduce traffic congestion in the Emirates.
It is also scheduled to increase the number of parking lots in Dubai during the New Year celebrations, in addition to expanding metro services and providing free rides for residents and citizens.
Providing additional parking spaces
The Roads and Transport Authority in the UAE also announced the provision of about 900 additional parking lots in a number of areas in preparation for the New Year celebrations.
The authority aims to provide citizens and residents with the ability to park cars in a comfortable manner, and is equipped with the latest modern systems to ensure the comfortable flow of cars throughout the duration of the celebrations.
