The United Arab Emirates has set guidelines regarding infants on board its flights with Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai and Air Arabia.
Requirements for traveling with infants on Emirates Airlines
- Infants are defined as infants less than two years old on Emirates flights, as stated on the Emirates website.
- You can request a cot or a special seat belt for infants to travel on their parents' laps or in when you book your tickets online.
- Emirates Airlines will accept infants under seven days old on board in the event of an emergency, as long as they are in incubators, or if the mother is traveling for humanitarian reasons.
Can my child travel alone on Emirates Airlines?
Etihad Airways, Emirates, Flydubai, and Air Arabia are just a few of the UAE airlines that offer the "Unaccompanied Minors" service, which allows parents to request that their children aged 5 to 12 fly alone. To view the minimum age requirement for the service, click here.
Child and infant seats on board Emirates Airlines
It is noteworthy that Emirates Airlines allocates side-by-side seats for children and infants on board its airlines, so that mothers and fathers can take care of their young children throughout the flight.
Travelers can also request a bed for infants under two years of age, and it will be provided with a seat belt connection during the take-off and landing of the plane, while children older than two years will have their car attached to their seats.
