A 5 day official holiday in the UAE soon

rawda samy - | UAE

There will soon be a five-day official holiday in the United Arab Emirates.

The next long holiday in the United Arab Emirates.

The long weekend that is being observed to commemorate Arafah Day, which is the holiest day in Islam, as well as the Eid Al-Adha holiday, is likely to be enjoyed by residents of the United Arab Emirates. We'll take a break during the second week of June. Sheikh Ayaz Houzee, the Imam of NGS and Khateeb at Al Manar Islamic Centre, says we will reveal the exact dates closer to the event.

5-day holiday for Eid Al Adha.

We have revealed the dates of the anticipated Eid al-Adha holidays.

According to the lunar-based method that is used for the Islamic calendar, Eid al-Adha occurs around two months and a few days after Eid al-Fitr comes around. According to Sheikh Ayaz, "The Islamic calendar is dependent on the lunar cycle, which causes it to experience shifts in the dates of both Eid festivals each year." These shifts occur around 10 to 11 days early each year.

The duration of each month on the Islamic Hijri calendar is either 29 or 30 days, depending on the time of day when the crescent moon is visible in the night sky. According to the Islamic calendar, Arafah falls on the ninth of the month of Hijjah. People celebrate Eid al-Adha over the course of the following three days.

Likely Eid break dates in the UAE.

Dates that are likely to be observed during the Emirates' Eid vacation.

The Hijri calendar that is available on the website of the Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) indicates that the first day of the Hijrah month is most likely going to be on Saturday, June 8. Astronomical calculations predict the same date, according to Khadijah Ahmad, the operations manager for Dubai Astronomy Group.

If this is the case, Arafah is celebrated on Sunday, June 16 (the ninth day of Dhul Hijjah). We will celebrate Eid al-Adha on Monday, June 17 (Dhul Hijjah 10). Consequently, the break will last from Sunday, June 16, until Wednesday, June 19, inclusive. Over the course of the event, there will be a total of five days off, including the weekend (Saturday, June 15). In the event that new moon sightings are required, these dates will be adjusted accordingly.
