Dubai Police announces the seizure of some vehicles due to driver violations.

Due to driver infractions, the Dubai Police Department has ordered the seizure of 383 vehicles, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The police in Dubai confiscated 383 motorcycles and electric scooters (e-scooters).

Accidents with electric scooters resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to 29 others in the previous year.

As a result of negligence and non-compliance with riding laws in designated places, as well as other infractions that occurred during the month of Ramadan, the Dubai Police Department was able to seize 383 motorbikes and electric scooters.

Electric scooters violations in Dubai.

Authorities reported a variety of violations, including failure to follow designated roads and paths, failure to wear a helmet or reflective vest, failure to install a bright reflective white light at the front of the bike, and failure to equip bicycles with functional brakes.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, the Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, made this claim in a press statement. In the statement, he affirmed Dubai Police's eagerness to spread awareness and traffic culture among road users with the goal of reducing inappropriate behavior, as well as reducing the number of traffic accidents and human losses that occur on the roads.

Fines for e-scooter violations in Dubai.

Infractions involving electric scooters in Dubai are subject to fines.

In October of the previous year, the Dubai Police Department disclosed that in 2023, injuries and fatalities involving e-scooters were 29 and five, respectively. The authority fined over ten thousand riders for violating traffic regulations over an eight-month period.

For riders of electric scooters in Dubai who put their own lives or the lives of others in danger, they can be subject to fines of up to Dh300. The police provided numbers indicating that improper usage of these vehicles, which have become a popular mode of transportation for the locals, resulted in approximately 1,250 penalties each month in the previous year.
