Dubai: Terminal 3 Check-ins Resume for Emirates & flydubai Flights

Asma Ahmed - | UAE

Following heavy rains on Tuesday, operational challenges persist at Dubai International Airport, potentially causing delays. While check-ins have resumed at Terminal 3 for Emirates and flydubai flights, the airport remains congested.

Passengers are advised to confirm their flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport. Emirates has also announced that customers departing from Dubai can now check-in, although delays may still occur due to the ongoing operational challenges. The airline has extended the suspension of check-in services until 9 a.m. on April 18.

The unprecedented rainfall in the UAE, the heaviest in 75 years, has led to flooding in various residential areas and disrupted transportation. Consequently, the government has urged private sector entities to facilitate remote work for employees, and many roads remain impassable due to flooding.

Emirates acknowledges the inconvenience passengers have experienced and is working to restore normal operations while providing assistance to affected customers. Despite efforts to mitigate disruptions, delays in both arriving and departing flights may persist.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the latest flight schedules on the Emirates website for updates. Emirates extends its sincerest apologies to impacted customers who have experienced delays and disruptions to their travel plans due to bad weather and road conditions. The Dubai-based airline is striving to restore scheduled operations and is arranging accommodation and other amenities for affected customers at the airport.

While check-ins have resumed and efforts are underway to restore normal operations, passengers should remain vigilant and prepared for potential delays. It is recommended to stay updated with the latest information provided by the airlines and to exercise patience during this period of recovery. The situation is being closely monitored, and additional measures may be implemented to alleviate the impact of the ongoing operational challenges at Dubai International Airport.
