Etihad Rail has accomplished the task of transporting passengers from Abu Dhabi to Dubai by passenger train.

As the Deputy Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces, Major General Staff Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan got the opportunity to travel on Etihad Rail's prototype passenger train. The train departed from Al Faya, which is Etihad Rail's primary operations and maintenance facility, and made its way to Al Qudra in Dubai.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, the Major General Staff, was joined by a group from the Ministry of Defense. During their visit, they discussed the advancements that have been made in the freight train operations of the United Arab Emirates National Railway Network, as well as the accomplishments that the firm has accomplished since its inception.

They were greeted by Shadi Malak, the Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Rail, as well as numerous other top business executives as they arrived at the depot. Sheikh Ahmed and the delegation were also there.

Throughout the course of the tour, Emirati cadres at Etihad Rail provided the delegation with an update on the most significant advances that have occurred at the firm since the beginning of the network and the beginning of freight operations in February 2023.

Ever since that time, Etihad Rail has been responsible for transporting over 7.4 million tons of sulfur and over 2.4 million tons of aggregates throughout the United Arab Emirates.

The delegation was also informed about the pivotal role that Etihad Rail plays in the transportation and logistics sector of the country, as well as its contribution to the economic growth and sustainable development of the United Arab Emirates. This was done in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership of the country, and under the guidance of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail.

Additionally, the realization of both the United Arab Emirates Centennial Plan 2071 and the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 is supported by this contribution.

This visit includes a tour of the facility that is regarded to be the most significant inside the National Railway Network, which is the facility that is responsible for operations and maintenance. The group was given a briefing on how the activities of the whole network are watched and monitored in the control center so that they could better understand the situation.
