Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid has announced positive news for the residents of Dubai. His Highness has approved a plan to build and manage five neighborhood councils in the following areas: Nad Al Sheba Second, Al Barsha South First, Al Warqa Third, Al Awir Second, and Hatta. This plan falls under the programs of "Dubai Social Agenda 33". The addition of these councils raises the total number of councils in the emirate to 18. The Community Development Authority oversees their functioning in various districts of the Emirate of Dubai.

The individual referred to as "His Highness" Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of various committees, announced in a blog post on the "X" platform that the construction of five neighborhood councils has been approved as part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 programs. Dubai has established more councils, increasing the total number to 18, which are strategically located across different areas of the emirate. The purpose of these councils is to strengthen social solidarity and foster a sense of community among the residents of Dubai.

His Highness stated that between 2021 and 2023, neighborhood councils organized over 1,400 community events. We anticipate an expanded role for these councils, aiming to establish them as prominent institutions dedicated to serving our society and delivering exceptional services. This will contribute to improving the quality of life for the residents of Dubai, who rightfully deserve the highest standards of service.

The plan is part of the emirate's strategy to enhance and activate the role of neighborhood councils. Its objective is to engage citizens in their residential areas, promote social cohesion among residents, and strengthen the concepts of national identity and quality of life.

The five newly established councils will commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the objective of establishing a hub to facilitate events and activities for inhabitants of residential neighborhoods. Additionally, these councils will serve as a platform for engaging with residents and fostering social cohesion among them.

The proposal to establish and manage five additional neighborhood councils aligns with the objectives of "Dubai Social Agenda 33", which seeks to foster the happiest, most interconnected, and tolerant families that uphold national values and identity. It aims to ensure stability within Emirati families and society by providing support and fulfilling their aspirations, with the ultimate goal of establishing a highly efficient and proactive social protection system. Concern and empowerment.

The Community Development Authority in Dubai has reported a significant demand for the 13 councils it currently operates in the Emirate of Dubai. This demand comes from citizens who wish to participate in community programs organized by the Authority, government agencies, and private organizations. Additionally, citizens seek to utilize these councils for organizing various events such as weddings, marriage contracts, and funerals. Furthermore, various additional social gatherings.

Between 2021 and the conclusion of the previous year, the councils organized around 1,454 community events. These included 284 wedding and marriage ceremonies, 52 funeral councils, 268 lectures and discussion sessions, 233 events aimed at raising awareness and providing training, 76 exhibitions showcasing employment opportunities and Emirati family products, an event dedicated to strengthening national identity, and approximately 541 events specifically for government agencies.

Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, the Director-General of the Authority, has affirmed that the implementation of the new neighborhood councils aligns with the vision of His Highness. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai, may he be divinely protected, follows the guidance of His Highness. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, emphasized the importance of reaching out to citizens in their local communities and providing resources for the ongoing development of social unity.

She stated that the authority had devised a strategy to create new neighborhood councils, guided by various principles. The foremost principle is the future vision of the wise leadership, which underscores the importance of enhancing the councils' role as accessible hubs for public communication, whether for service provision or gathering feedback on proposals and aspirations. Additionally, the plan seeks to reinstate the councils' significant role in deliberating on pertinent issues. Community councils primarily focus on addressing the immediate needs and issues faced by the local residents. The identification and choice of the areas were based on an analysis of the urban development plan for the emirate, as well as the specific needs of the community. This decision was made in accordance with the findings of a study conducted by the Authority, which highlighted the necessity of establishing community councils to facilitate various activities and promote awareness of Emirati customs and traditions among the youth. Additionally, these councils aim to strengthen social bonds within the community and foster stronger family ties for the residents of these regions.
