The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has successfully improved the efficiency of operational activities, reduced the average response time in emergency situations, and enhanced the satisfaction of Dubai Metro users. This was achieved through the implementation of a project aimed at enhancing communication and coordination between the operations control and maintenance control centers, resulting in faster response times during emergencies.
Hassan Mohammed Al-Mutawa, the Director of the Train Operations Department at the Authority's Rail Corporation, stated that the Authority has successfully concluded its project to improve communication between the operations and maintenance control centers. The objective of this project is to expedite the response time when services, assets, or systems are impacted, ultimately leading to enhanced passenger services.
He stated that the project, which was recently launched, has helped to streamline communication and coordination between the operations control center and the maintenance control center. This has resulted in faster completion of repair work, enabling employees and technicians to coordinate more efficiently in providing repair services.
Al-Mutawa verified that the project was executed in several stages. The initial phase involved analyzing and evaluating the strategy for addressing faults, as well as a trial phase where extensive exercises were carried out for four weeks to ensure the project's success. A comprehensive strategy was devised for conducting weekly experimental drills, encompassing over 20 simulated exercises that were executed with great success. These exercises yielded invaluable data findings that can be utilized in forthcoming enhancement initiatives for Dubai Metro services.
Al Mutawa highlighted the authority's endeavors to enhance its work in the sustainability field and exchange knowledge and regular reports with strategic partners. The objective is to strengthen collective accountability and deliver top-notch services to Dubai Metro passengers.
He emphasized the Railways Corporation's dedication to attaining the Authority's goal of gaining "worldwide dominance in convenient and sustainable transportation," while also maintaining the uninterrupted provision of its services.
According to him, the initiative strengthens collaboration among control centers to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a secure and pleasant transportation experience for Dubai Metro users. The goal is to fulfill the emirate's vision of customer happiness and satisfaction as a global leader in smart city initiatives. This is made possible by the emirate's commitment to delivering top-notch services to its residents and visitors.
Wallace Wetherell, the Managing Director of Keolis MHI, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Dubai Metro and operation of the Dubai Tram, emphasized the significance of efficient communication and collaboration in delivering metro transportation services.
He stated that both the Authority and the company remain dedicated to improving the time it takes to address faults, enhancing accident management, and delivering outstanding transportation services. This will be achieved through ongoing collaboration to establish a secure and comfortable transportation network that promotes passenger happiness and well-being.
