The Dubai government amends the provisions of financial allocations for employees

A citizen employee with a university degree should not have a salary of less than 18,000 dirhams, according to a decision made by the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, which amended certain provisions for approving financial allocations for Dubai Government employees.

Salary adjustments for university citizen employees will be made by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department in conjunction with the Department of Finance, in line with this decision.

A citizen employee with a bachelor's degree or its equivalent is granted a total salary according to Executive Council Resolution No. 109 of 2023, which amends some provisions of Executive Council Resolution No. 6 of 2020, approving financial allocations for Dubai government employees. Even if his degree's scientific concentration has nothing to do with his current position, he must earn at least 18,000 dirhams monthly.

National employees with bachelor's degrees or above who are still working for the government can expect their total salaries to be adjusted as of the decision's effective date in a joint effort between the two departments.

As a result of the decision's explicit guidelines for calculating the total salary due upon appointment, the newly hired employee will get the starting salary for the job grade to which he is appointed, plus the department can give him a bonus of up to 20% on top of that starting salary if he has the necessary competencies, work skills, and academic credentials. Plus, the necessary qualifications for the position are not met.

According to the decision, the employee may be eligible for a salary increase of up to 30% of their starting salary for the position they are appointed to, but only under certain conditions. These conditions include, but are not limited to, the position being one of pivotal or specialized jobs, the employee's grade being 12 or above, and the employee having the necessary competencies. His academic background, practical experience, and functional skills are all above and beyond what is needed for the position. Additionally, his end-of-appointment financial salary should not be more than his end-of-appointment financial salary. The department has reviewed his application and the position is one of the open ones that it has approved for its annual budget.
