Urgent.. Sharjah announces official working hours during the month of Ramadan

Abdallah Shahin - | UAE

During Ramadan, the official working hours in the departments, institutions, and bodies of the Sharjah Government are from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Departments operating on a shift system will determine their specific working hours based on operational needs.

The department conveyed its sincere congratulations and blessings to the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates, as well as to the residents of its land, and the Arab and Islamic nations. They prayed for God Almighty to bestow goodness and blessings upon them, ensuring their perfect health and well-being.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources released a circular specifying the official working hours for federal government sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan in the year 1445 AH.

During the holy month of Ramadan, ministries and federal agencies operate from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, as per the circular. On Friday, working hours are from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., unless otherwise necessary. Their work is different.

Ministries and federal agencies are allowed to continue implementing flexible work regulations during working days in Ramadan, as approved by them. This should be in line with the principles outlined and within the approved number of working hours per day, with the option to provide flexibility to employees. It is required to work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan, with a maximum of 70% of the total workforce, as per the allowed guidelines.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced a decrease of two hours per day in the normal working hours for employees in the private sector in the country during the month of Ramadan.

Private sector enterprises can use flexible work schedules or remote work during Ramadan, as long as they adhere to the designated daily working hours.
