We publish for you a link, details, and method for booking entry tickets to Baps Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi during the Eid period

Following hundreds of visitors to the temple on Tuesday, the Baps Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi plans to implement an online visitor registration system in order to accommodate the "astronomical" demand.

As massive crowds flocked to the location to celebrate the holiday of Ugadi, which is the Hindu counterpart of New Year's Day, Abu Dhabi Police assisted in directing traffic.

In addition, the religious celebration and the Emirates' official holiday commemorating Eid Al Fitr fell on the same day.

During a busy holiday season, organizers anticipate a significant increase in visitor numbers.

"With the beginning of the festive holidays, large numbers of devotees and visitors made their way to visit the Baps Hindu Mandir," the spokesman for the temple stated.

By late evening, around 60,000 people had already parked in the vicinity, and more were patiently standing in line. The Mandir was open to everyone and ran continuously all day.

"The massive influx of people was controlled from the Al Taf Road roundabout to the mandir entrance with the efficient help of Abu Dhabi Police and authorities.

"Visitors patiently queued and waited to enter in batches as multiple lines were formed for families and elderlies, as per the guidance of the Baps Hindu Mandir staff and volunteers."

Social media users posted a video of the Tuesday morning line-ups at the temple.

The temple said that a booking and registration gateway will be available soon. As of Tuesday, the system was still being configured.

A representative for the temple stated, "Since the grand opening of Baps Hindu Mandir, the number of visitors has significantly grown."

"The daily numbers have been consistently growing and are astronomical on weekends and special days."

Tourist Point of Interest

People waited in line to visit the hand-carved stone and marble Baps Hindu temple as soon as it officially opened on February 14.

On March 3, the first Sunday after the temple's official opening to the public, around 65,000 people attended, many weeks after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inauguration.

According to temple officials, the complex now sees 30,000 visitors on average every Sunday, with weekend wait times frequently reaching 90 minutes.

April celebrations

In the Hindu calendar, April is a busy month since it is the month of the Hindu new year and the spring festival, which is observed with state-wide customary prayers.

Hindus are also anticipated to come together in big numbers to commemorate this month's births of two Indian gods, Hanuman and Rama, on the occasions of Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti.

The Baps Mandir is not complete without the intricate sculptures of both deities.

The Abu Dhabi transport administration launched a new bus service last month to handle the weekend throngs. The bus service transports guests from the city's bus station to the temple.

To handle the Saturday and Sunday traffic to the temple, the 201 bus route has been substituted with the 203 bus route over the weekends.

Authorities at the temple were anticipating even greater attendance while preserving a joyous environment for the upcoming festivities.

A representative earlier told The National, "We have increased the number of volunteers and enlisted the support of the local police to ensure that everyone enjoys a wonderful experience."

"We work together with the local government to efficiently handle the surge of tourists. Together, we make sure that the crowds are effectively controlled and that there is enough room for everyone to visit the mandir securely and without being crowded.
