In order to improve efficiency and decrease customer waiting times, the Dubai Police have begun a revolutionary journey by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into 29 administrative procedures.
Transforming Police Operations with Artificial Intelligence
Dubai Police has embraced artificial intelligence (AI) across 29 administrative operations, significantly enhancing efficiency and reducing customer waiting times. Major General Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, highlighted several AI-driven systems that have transformed their operations.
AI Innovations Driving Efficiency
One such system is Accident Smart Planning, which utilizes AI to swiftly analyze accidents and generate reports without human intervention. This streamlines the process for drivers, reducing the steps required to obtain a 'Minor Accident' report from seven to four. Additionally, AI has been integrated into the Vehicle History Records, providing prospective buyers with easy access to a vehicle's accident history and mechanical condition.
A notable AI application introduced by Dubai Police is 'Officer Amna', a virtual officer available through the Dubai Police Smart App. Officer Amna, proficient in Arabic and English, interacts with the public, answering inquiries and providing information about police services. In the past year alone, Officer Amna engaged in 20,000 conversations with users, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in customer service.
The Dubai Police Smart App itself has been significantly enhanced with AI features, supporting seamless access to 70 services across seven languages. It has garnered nearly 7.9 million downloads, reflecting its popularity and effectiveness in improving the user experience.
Furthermore, Dubai Police has leveraged AI in collaboration with blockchain technology for issuing 'Lost Passport Certificates'. This secure and encrypted service has streamlined the issuance process, handling 66,413 transactions since its implementation in 2021. It eliminates the need for customers to visit service centers, thereby saving time and effort.
Another landmark initiative is the Smart Police Stations (SPS), which are operational across 25 locations in Dubai. Since the beginning of 2024, these stations have catered to 127,515 visitors and processed 36,376 transactions, offering 46 services. The SPS exemplifies Dubai Police's commitment to integrating AI to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Dubai Police's comprehensive adoption of AI across various departments underscores its commitment to advancing police operations, enhancing community security, preventing crime, and elevating customer satisfaction. These initiatives not only bolster trust in the police force but also elevate Dubai's security index, setting a precedent for smart city initiatives globally.
