Abu Dhabi's authorities stated on Friday that, in commemoration of the Eid Al Adha festivities, all public parking will be free from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18.
Free Public Parking and Darb Toll Waiver in Abu Dhabi During Eid Al-Adha
Abu Dhabi authorities have announced that public parking will be free from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, in celebration of the Eid al-Adha holidays. This announcement was made by the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) on Friday. Paid parking will resume on Wednesday, June 19. Additionally, passing through Darb toll gates will be free during this period.
Abu Dhabi is the latest emirate in the UAE to announce free parking for the long weekend. Other emirates have also declared similar measures to facilitate the public during the Eid holidays.
On Thursday, the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman confirmed that parking spaces would be free from June 16 to 18. Similarly, Sharjah authorities had earlier announced that public parking areas would be free during the same dates. However, Sharjah Municipality noted that this does not apply to the seven-day paid public parking zones, which are marked by blue signs.
Dubai has also specified free parking hours and adjusted Metro and Tram timings to accommodate the public during the Eid holidays. These measures are part of a broader effort across the emirates to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for residents and visitors during the festive period.
In the UAE, the Eid Al-Adha holidays for both the public and private sectors will run from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18. Public sector employees in Sharjah will enjoy a five-day holiday, thanks to their four-day workweek. Meanwhile, their counterparts across the country will have a 4.5-day break, with Friday designated as a half-day.
