An individual who assaulted a law enforcement officer in Dubai was sentenced to imprisonment and deportation as a consequence.
A woman was arrested and deported from Dubai after she assaulted a police officer in a pub.
The woman and her male companion had been at a dance club in Jumeirah Beach Residence when they attempted to re-enter the grounds, which is against the rules of the club.
After hitting a law enforcement officer who was attempting to arrest her lover, who was under the influence of alcohol, a woman who was 21 years old was found guilty of physical assault charges.
In accordance with the documents that were submitted to the Dubai Criminal Court, the incident took place on January 1.
According to reports, both members of the pair involved, a Russian male and a Ukrainian woman, were under the influence of alcohol.
The couple had been in a dance club in Jumeirah Beach Residence up to the point where they sought to re-enter the premises, which is against the rules of the club. In spite of the fact that the venue's security personnel requested that the pair leave, they continued to remain there.
They were contacted by a law enforcement officer who had caught sight of the disturbance. He introduced himself and asked the pair to depart discreetly in accordance with the club's rules if they were to comply with the restrictions.
The officer related in court how the pair had a disagreement at the beginning, which caused them to delay their departure. "The Russian man insulted me with profanity as they were walking away," the officer claimed. "I was in the middle of walking away." After being requested to report to the police station, the man hurriedly ran away from the scene of the crime.
During the course of the pursuit, the Ukrainian woman intervened by punching the officer on the left side of his face in order to prevent her associate from being taken into custody. This version was verified by the head of security at the club, who confirmed that the woman was the one who assaulted the man and that the man verbally insulted the woman.
Charges were dismissed in court.Additionally, the woman was brought into jail by the police. On the other hand, both persons opposed the charges that were brought against them in court; the male contested the insult charge, while the woman denied the assault charge. One of the documents that they submitted demonstrated that the officer had given up his rights in the case that was brought against them.
In spite of their defense, the court found the lady guilty of violently attacking a law enforcement officer and sentenced her to three months in prison, taking into account the amount of time she had previously spent in jail pending her trial.
Additionally, the judge issued an order for her to be deported once the fulfillment of her term had occurred.
The officer gave up his personal right to prosecute the insult charge, which resulted in the dismissal of the case against the Russian.
